Creative Vision
Artistic and creative energy are critical components of movements for social change.
This year's May 1st mobilization will be a colorful display of the immigrant community's desire for change. We are designing signs, banner, and flags to reflect our many interests and convey a powerful message to the public. The "Immigrant Roots-Immigrant Rights" logo, designed for the January 21st mobilization by Cesar Maxit, will be put to new uses in this mobilization. We are working with a small creative team to design colorful banners and signs to identify diverse contingents within the mobilization.
Currently, we are working on developing plans for contingents of students, union members, day laborers and faith leaders.
The artwork on this website and on the flyers is inspired by the prints of Malaquias Montoya: Chicanas Y Chicanos Needed in the Development of Our Communities, and People's College of Law (LA).
